Thanks to David for emailing in a copy of a flyer being handed out in Rosslyn yesterday, notifying passerby’s that Rosslyn’s new food truck zone pilot will go into effect on August 17th.  The Washington City Paper has some more details, along with a high-resolution & color version of the flyer.  The Rosslyn vending zones differ from DC’s zones in two respects: 1) Instead of fostering development in current vending hot spots like DC has done, Rosslyn has created entirely different spots where food trucks may serve, and 2) Instead of creating a monthly lottery where any food truck operator has a chance at winning a vending spot, Rosslyn’s spots are granted on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The coveted vending location on N Lynn St halfway between Wilson and 19th will be no more starting August 17th, as the street will be reduced to 1-hour parking – not enough time for a food truck to setup, serve, and tear down operations.

The BID has created a survey for the pilot program.
