Just had the chicken souvlaki and it was really good- the chicken is cooked really well and not dry at all. Definitely recommend.

I'm a New Yorker who knows quality street food when I taste it, and this is the best street food I've had outside of the 5 boroughs.

I tried this truck for the first time today and the lamb gyro was dissappointing. The slices looked like bologna meat that had been browned ever so slightly at the edges. Also, spices and flavor were not very pronounced. Pita bread and tzatziki were tasty. My co-worker had the chicken shwarma and seemed a lot happier than I was.

I saw this truck for the first time today and decided to try it. The owner was one of the absolute friendliest I have come across at any food truck and had really great customer service. What I wanted (combo over rice) was not on the posted menu, but he was happy to make it for me. Many people ordered, but the food was ready quickly so there was neither a long line nor a long wait! Both the chicken shawarma and the gyro meat were delicious and sliced paper thin, which was a plus. Many other Mediterranean trucks have bigger pieces of meat that are dry in the middle and/or have chunks of fat hanging off of them, so I really appreciated the thinly sliced gyro and the shaved chicken shawarma. The food tastes fresh, the flavors are light, and the portions were perfect: not so small that you feel like you didn’t even eat and not so big that you are forcing yourself to finish it. The food here seems to be a lighter and healthier version of the typical gyro trucks, so the taste is a little different than most and is not as heavy or greasy.
Just FYI: The rice is white, without the typical spices many other gyro trucks offer; I know that makes a difference for some people who prefer the yellow, more seasoned rice.
Habebe serves a variety of salads and Mediterranean cuisine. Thanks to Christine for the menu photos!
