Last week, Peanut Butter Jelly Time truck announced that they were retiring just after a month and a half of service. The market for gourmet PB&J sandwiches just didn’t seem to be there. They posted this note on their FB page: “As some of you have suspected, we have closed the door on Peanut Butter Jelly Time. We appreciate all of the high-fives & pictures of your notes from Mom, the rest of the city wasn’t ready for us.”
The PB&J concept seemed to be executed very well by PB&J truck, with a variety of sandwiches and customer service that was full of nostalgia. They will be missed!

This truck rocked – I came because of their devilishly clever graphic artwork, but stayed because of sandwiches like The Elvis and The Spicy Pig.
You will be missed, PB&J Truck. Please consider trying a comeback some day!
I’m not sure how in 6 weeks of service, one could even build up a customer base, yet alone implement the initial business plan?
To be honest, I hadn’t seen the truck on the FTF tracker app, more than one or two times since launch.
I’m hoping since this truck is owned by Chupcabra and DD Pies, that they will be able to relaunch as another brand or at least be able to use the truck as a second DD Pies.
I had the honor of visiting this truck and enjoyed my whole experience. I am saddened that this will be the end for them. I was actually looking forward to trying the “Footlong”. 🙁 Now I will hold on to my memories of the PB&J truck through my lunch bag note that is now posted on my cubicle wall. You guys rocked!!
