The Red Hook Lobster Pound food truck is now permitted in Arlington and will serve today in Ballston! I believe that the lobster truck is the first DC food truck to be permitted in all three municipalities: Montgomery County, MD, Arlington, VA and the District.

Ryan H tweets a pic of District Taco’s minor accident today and gets a +1 for the “vendor bender” joke. 🙂

Tortuga tweeted that they will be launching to in Tysons Corner, VA! They serve tortas, sandwiches and more. Torta describes the type of bread that Tortuga will be using. It is typically round and flat. We will have to see what style of bread Tortuga will be using!  See more info on Tortuga’s page.

We were all shocked yesterday when District Taco announced that their cart, named El Torito, apparently broke free from its trailer hitch and flipped on its side yesterday.  Here is a pic that they tweeted while it was laying on the ramp on the highway near the Key Bridge.  But, I’m so happy to report that after what looks like a hard night’s work, District Taco’s El Torito is back in action today in Rosslyn!  Great way to bounce back from adversity, District Taco! 🙂  A copy of the two tweeted pics are below.

I just received word that That Cheesecake Truck is gearing up to hit the road in the first or second week of July!  I can’t wait! Here is a quick link to their menu.

They are also partnering up with Bread for the City to be their first charity for July,

The owner of DC Kabob and Grill got in touch to let us know that they will be launching in DC on June 27, with possible service beginning at the end of this week!  Check out their page for more info.

Go Fish just tweeted that they received their permit in Montgomery County and hope to launch next week!

They will be serving seafood during lunch, and will also be performing deliveries during other times of the day!

Update: The planned launch day is next Tuesday with an appearance at the Kings Farm farmers market on Wednesday. 🙂

Sidewalk Sweetsations is now officially licensed in Montgomery County!  Future stops will be in: Burtonsville, Rockville, Wheaton, Northern Silver Spring and Bethesda.

Sidewalk Sweetsations joins a growing number of food trucks that are being licensed in Maryland.  Suburban Bros, Tops Trucks, Red Hook Lobster Pound, DC Love Bites, and now Sidewalk Sweetsations are all licensed in MD.
