Thanks to DC Food Truck Photographer for reporting that all of the trucks on the east side of Farragut Square were ticketed this morning for parking too close to each other (within 3 feet of each other, measured from bumper-to-bumper). Apparently, a meter attendant had a tape measure and if two trucks were parked within 3 feet of each other, they received tickets. Bizarre! One has to wonder if this an actual rule, or if DPW is making stuff up?

DC Parking Enforcement personnel should find better things to do with their time — like ticketing all of the illegally parked cars in handicapped spots in strip mall parking lots around the city.
Oh, you mean the law on the books that’s never been enforced for passenger cars.. but now lets enforce it for food trucks?! Disgusting Disgusting Disgusting. This city is a pile of fucking horseshit. Fuck You DC government… how f’ing low can you go…hope it gets picked up by national news to show just how low the government will go to steal money.
Strangely enough trucks on the west side were also measured and were closer than those I. The east side yet were spared being ticketed.
I actually observed one such truck that was so close to another that I could not physically slide between them on the west side yet were spared.
Interestingly enough, it looks like they had targeted specific trucks. After a lengthy discussion with Papa Alan, he may considered more friendly areas to serve as a result of today.
Maybe it was a good thing we weren’t Farragut… http://t.co/h8D7uukK74
