BBQ Bus Goes Brick and Mortar at Denizens Brewing Co
New Restaurant, Bar and Brewery Opens this Summer in Silver Spring
SILVER SPRING, MD. – On tap for downtown Silver Spring: A new barbecue restaurant at Denizens Brewing Co from one of the DMV’s favorite food trucks.
BBQ Bus at Denizens Brewing Co will serve a menu of barbecue favorites including smoked and pulled pork, Angus brisket, smoked chicken, and tender baby backs to go with the Denizens brewery’s standout lineup of beers brewed onsite.
“Beer and BBQ! What’s a better combo than that?” said Tadd Ruddell-Tabisola, BBQ Bus Owner and Executive Chef.
The 7,500-square-foot restaurant and craft brewery is blocks from the Silver Spring Metro at 1115 East-West Highway and will open in mid-July.
“Joining forces with BBQ Bus gives locals another way to enjoy our brews,” said Jeff Ramirez, Denizens Brewing Co’s Director of Brewing Operations and co-owner. “We’re excited to experiment with pairings and help people choose their beer based on what flavor they want to accentuate in the barbecue.”
When Denizens Brewing Co begins full production, they will offer a Rye IPA, Bohemian-style pilsner, and English-style Extra Special Bitter; along with additional rotating seasonals such as a Belgian-style Tripel and a Robust Porter.
Beer and barbecue lovers alike will enjoy the comfortable atmosphere of Denizens Brewing Co, including indoor seating that overlooks the brewery and a 150-seat outdoor beer garden.
“My grandfather said that it was the people who came to see you week after week that kept you in business,” Ruddell-Tabisola said. “That’s certainly been true with BBQ Bus, and that’s the environment Denizens Brewing Co and BBQ Bus are working to create: A comfortable, casual and down-to-earth restaurant and brewery that is part of the community.”
Founded by Silver Spring natives, Denizens Brewing Co will display local art and have space for live musical acts and private events at the taproom. At full capacity, it will be the largest production brewery in Montgomery Country.
BBQ Bus has been serving their smoked meats, ribs, sides and house-made BBQ sauces to its guests in DC, Maryland and Virginia for more than three years.
“We’re excited to expand our curbside menu over the coming months,” said Ruddell-Tabisola, adding that guests can look forward to barbecue small plates designed for sharing and a weekend brunch menu.
