TaKorean is thrilled to be opening a new fast-casual restaurant in the Twelve12 building at The Yards. The grand opening will be Monday August 18th. TaKorean CEO, Mike Lenard, says: “Takorean could not be happier to open our first full- scale restaurant amongst the vibrant food and recreational scene at the yards.” The Yards is a diverse neighborhood where residents and visitors can find lively entertainment with lunchtime concerts, outdoor movies, a seasonal farmers’ market, Nationals Park and special events and festivals in the Yards Parks on the riverfront.

TaKorean will offer its classic menu of Asian inspired taco combinations and menu items to consistently provide customers with fresh, unique, healthy and delicious tasting food. Made from scratch using the freshest ingredients available, TaKorean will continue to serve up delicious Korean-style Bulgogi beef, tangy chicken, bo ssam style roasted pork, and caramelized tofu with a choice of kimchi-style slaw, napa-romaine slaw or spiced kale. All tacos, slaw bowls and rice bowls come with an array of toppings to add an extra kick – a cool lime crema, Sriracha chili sauce, fresh cilantro and sesame seeds. In addition, a new homemade Korean style salsa roja with multigrain blue tortilla chips will be offered. Customers will also be able to choose from 3 draft beers, Soju, and Sake, as well as locally brewed tea, kombucha and soft drinks. TaKorean serves both vegetarian and vegan options.

TaKorean will also continue to pledge 1% of all gross sales to local environmental and youth based non-profit organizations. Through this initiative TaKorean has made 11 donations to 9 charities and non-profit organizations in the DC area that are having a tremendous impact on raising awareness and alleviating local environmental issues, supporting community farms, providing access to food, and empowering youth through experiential learning, outdoor education, and leadership development. TaKorean looks forward to supporting more locally run organizations and cultivating new, meaningful relationships.

TaKorean’s new Navy Yard is located at 1212 4th Street, SE. Temporary store hours will be Monday through Friday 11:00am to 7:30pm, Saturday 11:00am to 4:00pm, and Sunday closed. We plan to establish longer hours in the coming months.
