Curbside Cupcake tweeted that they are launching Pinky 3 today! Though, the most recent tweet noted that there may be some technical difficulties with today’s launch, Curbside Cupcake joins Sauca as the only DC food truck businesses having a fleet of three trucks! Congrats!

On June 3, 2011, the DC Food Trucks Association, in conjunction with Das Bullpen, Capitol Riverfront BID, Washington City Paper and Food Truck Fiesta, held a 17 food truck festival at Das Bullpen in Southeast Washington, DC next to the Navy Yard metro station and National’s ballpark.  The event ran from 11am – 9pm and featured bands, picnic tables, cornhole (bean bag toss) games along with a selection of adult beverages.  The lunch time crowd was strong, but it was the late evening crowd that eclipsed those earlier attendance numbers.  The event is expected to be held monthly during the summer and fall seasons.  Check out the photos below!

Hey DC Food Truck fans! I’m live blogging Truckeroo today.  Check out my Twitter stream for pictures!

Get pumped for Truckeroo!  It is being held in Das Bullpen at M & Half St SE (Navy Yard metro) from 11am – 9pm Friday, June 3rd!  Here are some deets:

• The band line-up is as follows:  Sean Chyun & The Deceivers 12 – 3pm, Anthony, Swamp Dog Cliar 3 – 6pm, & White Loafer 6 – 9pm
• All 17 trucks listed on this web page will be serving from 11am – 9pm
• Warner Music Group will be handing out free gifts with every purchase at DC Empanadas AND other trucks
• Debuting at Truckeroo: Cherve with lemon fig spread on multigrain. Served either grilled or not by Big Cheese
• Of course, drinks & beer will be served by the Das Bullpen staff
• The weather will be in the 70’s!

Just a few news items for you all!

– Truckeroo, a huge food truck party with bands and drinks, is taking place this Friday during lunch and dinner at the Navy Yard metro.  It’ll be of the same scale as last year’s Curbside Cookoff.  See the sidebar ad for more information!

– Go Fish tweeted that it would be serving with other Montgomery County food trucks at the King Farm farmer’s market in a couple of weeks.

– Lastly, there is another mini food truck party at Yards Park in southeast today for lunch!

Great news! The Rolling Ficelle food truck is opening today (May 25).  They serve sandwiches!  Also, Fry Captain is reopening tomorrow (May 26) after having closed down for the winter last year.
