After seeing some strange reports from food trucks at Union Station this afternoon, avispalazzolo tweeted some photos of the drama unfolding.  Carnivore BBQ reported that they needed some additional paperwork that they thought would be sent to them, but instead have to go pick up the paperwork.  Curbside Crabcakes is rumored to have not had its vending license with them.

The rest of the [about 7] trucks seemed fine and this appeared to be a routine permit check.

The Phillips Collection is bringing DC food trucks to its popular Phillips After Five event on August 25, 2011 from 5 to 8:30 pm!

While you are listening to live Latin Jazz, partaking in a tequila tasting or the Art Scavenger Hunt and perhaps picking up a gallery tour (at 6pm and 7pm), you can also dine at these fine DC food trucks: Carnivore BBQ, Red Hook Lobster Pound, DC Empanadas, Ficelle, and Curbside Cupcakes + more!

Surfside DC food truck at Truckeroo #2

Cajunators is debuting today at Truckeroo and this is the second showing of Surfside (they were at Truckeroo #2 as well).  Give ’em a try!

Directly across from the Navy Yard / Ballpark metro at Das Bullpen, Truckeroo is a monthly DC food truck festival featuring about 25 food trucks from the DC Food Truck Association.  The event lasts from 11am to 11pm and is FREE admission.  Something new for this month’s event: a mechanical bull ride!  Awee, the bull ride didn’t come through for today, but we’re here for the food anyway! Enjoy 🙂

Just a friendly reminder that Truckeroo #3 is tomorrow, August 12!  Enjoy food from about 25 DC food trucks all parked in one place: Das Bullpen at Half and M St, SE across from the Navy Yard (Ballpark) Metro Station.  The event runs from 11am – 11pm and is free admission.  Live music + games (cornhole) + plenty of benches.

UPDATE: It appears as though Phonomenon’s last day of service was yesterday (August 10).

Wow.  The operator of Phonomenon posted a write-up of what has been going on in her life for the past month or so.  I’m sorry to announce that tomorrow (8/12/2011) will be their last day serving and that they are putting the business up for sale.  They launched just 1 month ago on July 11.  Although the business was successful, exhaustion and a bad business partner were to blame for their closing.

Capitol Greenz is now serving in the District! They are at 23rd & M street today and are still getting a handle on their social media accounts.  Check their page for more info and links!
