Thanks for Aaron for pointing out that SUNdeVICH food truck has broken free of its permanent spot at the NY Ave Beach Bar and, as of last week, is serving lunch at various spots in the District! The menu consists of sandwiches named after international cities. Today they are at L’Enfant. More info + truck photo and menu details are on their page.
Last week, Peanut Butter Jelly Time truck announced that they were retiring just after a month and a half of service. The market for gourmet PB&J sandwiches just didn’t seem to be there. They posted this note on their FB page: “As some of you have suspected, we have closed the door on Peanut Butter Jelly Time. We appreciate all of the high-fives & pictures of your notes from Mom, the rest of the city wasn’t ready for us.”
The PB&J concept seemed to be executed very well by PB&J truck, with a variety of sandwiches and customer service that was full of nostalgia. They will be missed!

Chef/Owner Stephan Boillon, from the El Floridano food truck, needs your help in Kickstarting his restaurant, located in Columbia Heights!
Stephan is one of the greenest food truck owners in DC, sporting solar panels atop his truck to power operations while parked. So, it is no surprise that this green attitude is being carried over to his restaurant, where he intends on using reclaimed materials and energy efficient machinery.
Check out the full details on the Kickstarter page.

Councilmember Yvette M. Alexander announced the launch of Food Truck Wednesdays at the Department of Employment Services (DOES) in Ward 7.
From July 25 to Sept. 26, a different pair of DCFTA food trucks will be serving during lunchtime outside the Department of Employment Services at 4058 Minnesota Avenue NE (at Benning Road outside the Minnesota Avenue Metro Station). “This is a great opportunity for those that work, shop and commute in the Downtown Ward 7 area to enjoy the convenience of food trucks that others enjoy throughout the city,” said Councilmember Alexander. “It’s a good balance to the limited access to sit-down restaurants that we currently have.”
The 10-week program was organized in partnership with DOES and the DC Food Trucks Association (DCFTA). Participating trucks include:
