Kraving Kabob is one of the flashiest kabob trucks to enter the DC food truck scene. It is so refreshing to see new trucks embrace the branding of their truck so that fans won’t have any problem spotting them – just check out that truck wrap! Monday (Oct 17, 2011) was their first day serving and they were at Metro Center. Enjoy! 🙂

i just had their chicken kabob wrap. 8 bucks. just a standard pita, oiled and put on a grill, with some chunks of white meat marinated in some yellow sauce that tasted similar to butter chicken. the sandwich included some salad and yogurt sauce. while it tasted good, it definitely wasn’t worth the purchase. the chicken kabob was supposed to be afghan-style, but there wasn’t anything afghan about the sandwich. there wasn’t even any sumac, which seems to be included by every afghan place. all in all, it was just an americanized chicken kabob pita sandwich.
if it were priced at 4 bucks or 5 bucks, sure. but definitely not 8 bucks. i’d pay a premium if they offered something unique, but their menu didn’t seem promising. they’ve got to introduce more authentic flavors at a lower price. otherwise they’re going to have a tough time surviving.
We appreciate everyone’s feedback and it will help us better serve our clients, we have been in the restaurant business for over 15 years and afghan kabob is out specialty. We actually had a customer ask us what was being sprinkled on our kabob and it was sumac. Just the ingredients and process that goes in our kabob and rice makes it much more unique than other kabob’s.
Same thoughts on the prices. $10 for the combo is a little steep. No sides with it, just more salad.
hello Sean,
We appreciate you eating from our truck, I can assure you next week we will have sides. This week was a soft opening and next week we will be
Running full throttle.
This truck is very attractive and eye catching and fun. The food was much tastier and flavorful than most other kabob trucks The kabob was delicious and the sayce was amazing My coworkers had the steak & cheese, fish and chips and chicken salvouki and they loved the freshly cooked flavors. It’s refreshing to see their creativity from the truck to the flavors in their food. Please come back to metro center.
I love this truck how fun. About time a nice bright truck full of life comes to town. Love the colors and the food. Met the guys today, they are fun and friendly and the food was fresh and delightful. They made my day and they deliver so great for cold days, why couldn’t more trucks think of this. GO try their food and you will love it, specially the new style of kabobs and the new sauce…I love me some more KABOBS LOL!!!!
Thank you Rosa for the kind compliments and we really appreciate your business. We will always try to keep all of our customers happy with our service and food qaulity and taste.
Best regards,

Nice truck, even has a plasma showing video’s. The food has a lot of flavor and friendly staff, pretty fast for just starting out. They even gave me a free bottle of soda because they were sold out of most items.
