Do DC food trucks get inspected more than brick and mortar restaurants? The answer can be summed up by reading El Floridano’s latest Facebook status:
My 1st job in DC was Exec. Chef saw health inspect. 1 time in 8 Mos. 7 Mos. In biz. w/truck and today will be 8th inspect. Enforcement or harassment???
Eight health inspections in seven months? That’s pretty ridiculous and, in my opinion, could be driven by external political forces (restaurant lobby harassment?). I have even heard reports of MPD boarding truck kitchens during the course of busy lunch hour traffic to assist the Department of Health with inspections. Is that even legal?
But, if you were ever concerned about DC food truck food safety, you can be assured that the food is very safe and being inspected on an unreasonably frequent basis. I may not be able to say the same for many upscale DC restaurants! 🙂

I think you are on to something there. Use the overly frequent inspections in your marketing as a sign that the hygiene standard is higher for trucks (assuming you are passing them :0). Turn the tables on those cads…
