The Food Truck Fiesta android app is here!! Click here to get it, or search for “food truck fiesta” in the Market app on your phone. Track DC food trucks from your Android phone! Big thanks to @BujeBaby for testing assistance. 🙂 If you have any issues with the app, please email me at foodtruckfiesta@gmail.com. Include your phone model and, if you can, version of Android OS you are running.

Finally! Looks good so far on an Evo.
How about a Blackberry App? Some of us are tied to our Blackberrys via work.
A PAID app??? Really?
*sigh*
Hey, I for one don’t mind a paid app, especially if it’s useful. Although right now there are a number of things I’d like to see:
– In addition to map view, how about a list view of food trucks nearby sorted by distance (showing distance in miles and a live compass, similar to Google Places)
– More info about each truck (i.e. link to menus, website in addition to Twitter?)
– Foursquare integration (check-ins!)
– Better Twitter integration–for example a live feed stream of all the trucks being tracked?
– Maybe a Facebook “Like” button next to each truck listing?
– A “Favorites” menu where I can save my favorite trucks. Maybe you can track this and show a “Most Popular” list?
– Make the Android ‘menu’ button useful (switching between views?)
UNCjigga: Great feedback – thanks! I’m definitely not done with the app, so I look forward to incorporating your suggestions.
Dave: I don’t think I’m going to be able to create a Blackberry app since those apps are unbelievably difficult to create and release. But, I’ll try to think of other ways to make it easier for Blackberry users to use the site. Thanks!
Understandable if BB makes it difficult. Maybe something using BBM where there’s a daily message sent out for several areas ie, Metro Center, DuPont and Chinatown around 11am.
Awesome suggestion! I will look into it
Hey friends, I received two additional comments along the line of “I don’t pay for apps.” That’s totally fine, but I’m not going to continue approving those comments in this thread.
It really does cost a lot of money for me to produce and publish the app (even Google charges me to publish in the Market), so I need to recoup the money somehow. That means I have to use ads or charge a marginal fee. I feel that ads would be too intrusive and that $0.99 is not a lot of money. You don’t even need to break out a credit card to contribute because the Market allows you to add the charge onto your cell bill.
Your combined contributions will allow me to continue to offer the app and improve it over time. And, I think that a one-time fee of $0.99 is a fair price for all parties involved. All future updates to the app are free.
Thanks!
