The newest food truck in Arlington, BBQ Bandidos, looks like they got a crash course in Rosslyn Restaurant Relations (copyright). Their latest tweet says it all:
The fabulous manager at Chop’D threatened us with the fuzz! Now at the top of the hill!!

Maybe Chop’t should start serving BBQ if that’s what their customers are leaving them for!
This is not about Chopp’d specifically:
Seriously, I think we’ve hit a point in history where everything someone does in retail (including restaurants) gets photographed, videotaped, blogged, or posted. The food truck movement big nowadays and gaining steam, fans, and seasons on TVFN.
Businesses should be happy to have a food truck there because it brings traffic. Generally the food at storefronts and trucks is different enough that someone could buy both, or at the very least note that there is a restauarnt location there to come back to later. But, the X thousands of people who are at the Curbside cookoff today (and yesterday) hear that a restaurant is giving our beloved trucks a hard time…and that isn’t good business.
Treat a food truck like a hot dog stand…they pay whatever the fees are, go through the application process, and are part of the landscape. If you have a problem with the system, comnplain to the city or licensing authority but leave the Truck staff alone…they are trying to make a living just like you are.
